Describe your current release in two sentences.
Madison Knight should have ignored the call. Now she is spending Christmas Eve dealing with her least favorite thing…blood and lots of it. – JUSTIFIED, A Madison Knight Novel
What was your childhood ambition?
As a teenager, I always thought it would be such an accomplishment to write a novel. I even sent away to Harlequin for their submission guidelines, but things in life changed fast from that point. I ended up finding the love of my life and moving across the province.
Do you have a favorite time of the day? If so when and why
I love mornings—after my first coffee even more so. Mornings are fresh and full of so much potential. I find this time of day ideal for when I’m writing the first draft of a manuscript.
Please describe your writing environment.
Bright and open. I actually work in my dining room these days. My office is dark, and in need of renovation to make it a place that actually draws me.
What is your favorite TV show?
Criminal Minds. I love it because they push the boundaries, and it has the “shock factor”. Their presentation of the darker minds inspires me to go there with my writing. In fact, this show contributed to the idea of ELEVEN, my FBI thriller, which is also available for purchase in print and for Kindle.
What are you working on?
Presently, I’m working on a round of edits for SACRIFICE, the third in the Madison Knight series. It’s slated for release summer of this year. I hope to get it off to the editor by the end of April.
What career fields have you worked in?
Ironically, up until my writing career I wouldn’t say I had one. Writing is such a passion to me that I breathe it every moment of the day. Whether it be an aspect of marketing, social networking, or reading it’s a part of who I am. It doesn’t feel like work.
As far as jobs, J , I’ve mainly worked in corporate collections.
I have two beagles—Max and Chelsea. They will be three years old this May.
Your second question, I’m not even sure how to answer LOL I’m not sure if it does. I have dogs in the Madison Knight series. Terry Grant, Madison’s partner has two beagles.
If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why? What would you hope to talk about?
One person? Ideally, I love to meet all the authors I interact with on a regular basis. They are fantastic! I would love to talk about books, their marketing strategies, and their thoughts on where the publishing industry is headed to name just a few things.
To answer your question directly, I would probably choose John Locke. The reason for this is the man has met with a lot of success. I’ve read his book on selling a million e-books, but I’d like to dig deeper. I’d also like to find out what he’s like as a person and how this has contributed to his success.
Who is your all-time favorite book character…and why?
Tough question, but I’d have to go with Oliver Stone of The Camel Club series written by David Baldacci. Stone is tough to his enemies, yet loyal to his friends. He thinks like a solider, yet is guided by his heart.
Where can we connect with you online?
